The Bridle Path Riding Centre was established in 1998 by Kelly McKay in Clavering Ontario.
It was one of the first riding facilities North of Hwy 21 on the Peninsula.
Former student, Emma McLaren, had been riding at the Bridle Path since 2001.
As the only person in her family interested in horses it was not an easy hobby to start,
but the Bridle Path provided a place for her to break into the horse world.
Interest turned to hobby, and hobby turned into passion.
After pursuing further education in Biology, Animal Behaviour, and Equine Management, Emma realized that growing challenges provided equine opportunities to a limited few, and the steady decrease of entry level participants has severely impacted the industry leading to negative effects that are felt by horses themselves.
In 2019, Emma bought the business, with her main desire to seek ways to increase accessibility to horses.
Based on her own experiences, Emma recognizes that starting something new and exciting like horseback riding can often be scary and intimidating. Horses are very unique. Even if you grew up and live among horses you are constantly presented with new learning opportunities.
Now located in Park Head, ON
The Bridle Path Equestrian Centre goes beyond just riding horses.
It provides hands-on, interactive programming to establish a well-rounded and full equine education.
Whether you want to start a hobby or feed your already established obsession, the Bridle Path can facilitate your love for horses.
Specializing in first starts and fresh starts, we want your first/next experience with horses to be an empowering one.
Self-proclaimed horse nerds, welcomed.
